Assisted Living Training
Assisted Living Manager certification and required staff training, taught from the surveyor’s side of the clipboard.
Whether you’re preparing to manage your first assisted living facility or keeping your whole team compliant, Marado Health makes Maryland assisted living training clear, practical, and survey-ready. Our courses are built on the current COMAR 10.07.14 regulations, rewritten in 2025, and taught by a former OHCQ surveyor and licensed Assisted Living Manager.
80-Hour Assisted Living Manager (ALM) Course
Every Maryland assisted living manager must complete the 80-hour ALM training course before serving as manager. Our course covers all 13 required modules, from resident assessment and service planning to medication management, dementia care, emergency planning, and the OHCQ survey process.
Evening classes, Tuesday through Thursday, built for working professionals
Real-world case studies drawn from actual survey findings
Certificate of completion upon finishing the course
ALM Continuing Education and Alternate Manager Training
Managers of programs with five or more beds must complete 20 hours of continuing education every two years. We focus on what actually gets cited in the field, not generic content. Alternate manager training is available as a discounted add-on when your primary manager enrolls.
Required Staff Training (COMAR 10.07.14.19)
Maryland requires initial and annual training for assisted living staff, but approves no vendor to provide it, which is where many facilities fall short on survey day. We deliver:
New employee orientation
Dementia, cognitive impairment, and behavioral health
Fire and life safety, emergency and disaster planning
Infection control and OSHA bloodborne pathogens
Food safety and resident rights
Every class comes with the documentation surveyors require: date, content, completion, and trainer.
