Course Overview
All assisted living facility (ALF) employees in Maryland are required under COMAR 10.07.14 to complete training that promotes a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Fire & Life Safety is one of the core mandatory training areas for all staff who provide personal care services or have direct responsibility for resident safety.
This 2-hour asynchronous online course provides foundational knowledge and practical skills to help staff prevent fires, respond to emergencies, and maintain safety within the assisted living environment. Designed specifically for Maryland ALFs, the course aligns with state regulations, national safety standards, and the unique risks present in residential care settings.
Upon completion, participants receive a certificate of completion suitable for personnel files and surveyor review.
